Wendi...haha.....Barbara...my heart aches at that.

Wendi...haha...that made me smile! You must have used a English/Swahili translator! Bravo! "Ni raziki yangu" Literally means "this is my portion". But the intent behind it is much more rich than the literal translation. The meaning is closer to..."this is my destiny" or "the Path I am supposed to be on". It's one place that literal translation doesn't work.

Not something we learned in books. We learned that one from a native Swahili speaker.

...danielleDanielle https://www.blogger.com/profile/04484341169494632974noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2600278351249979209.post-85821826113852353202013-01-29T18:45:10.555-08:002013-01-29T18:45:10.555-08:00Nini ni raziki?Nini ni raziki?Wendi Taylorhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08030986993835268409noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2600278351249979209.post-7084762792241763082013-01-29T13:25:35.511-08:002013-01-29T13:25:35.511-08:00So true, and so wrong. I am jaded by years of work in public schools/special ed. I have no optimism to offer on this subject. :-(Barbara Therextrasnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2600278351249979209.post-63088652521338378572013-01-27T21:52:56.839-08:002013-01-27T21:52:56.839-08:00I love that you speak another language....and not ...I love that you speak another language....and not just French or Spanish...but Swahili!!!
And I'll always remember your tip about hospital stays and arguing with Spousey in Swahili. **Jealous**!!legomasterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04886167606579197495noreply@blogger.com
