on a scale

I have a budding scientist in the house. Who needs some help. He's creating a poll regarding birds. And their popularity among humans. So on a scale of 1 - 5 (1 being HATE them - 5 being LOVE them) how do you feel about birds? Please leave a comment with your number so he can continue his tally!

nothin' says "I'm ready" like Elmo

Trevy had a FABULOUS first day at school! All decked out in his birthday backpack & duds. He was SO ready for a day filled with fun, friends & learning! And his teachers had nothing but praises to share over him. I even heard he's already crushing on one of them! Which I'm okay with... so long as he still comes running to snuggle me like he did today at pick up! It was such a precious moment... that I changed my mind about the bus thing. I was going to have him ride both ways...since we're so close n' all. But seeing his face light up when he saw me waiting... Well... it made me a flake. And I called to change my mind! He'll take the bus in the am. Mommy'll be waiting for the running snuggles in the afternoon! I may catch some cyber judgment here...but I'll still chance admitting.... That I kinda enjoyed a handful of hours Trevy (the cutest menace) free. I didn't work out like I'd promised myself I would. But Toby & Bristel had a wonde...

A birthday poem borrowed for Trevy

Birthday Poem for Cody (borrowed for Trevy) 3 years ago, on this day at 5:30pm, I heard the words... "you have a healthy, perfect baby boy!" That's what they told me. They told me you were healthy - there was nothing to fear. That's what they told me. --------------------------------------------- What they didn't tell me.... was that 6 months later my world would topple they didn't tell me...they didn't know... that you weren't healthy They didn't tell me I'd never stop crying ---------------------------------------------- They also didn't tell me... I'd given birth to a hero They didn't tell me... God created a warrior in my womb That every day of your life you would put on your armor and fight a battle no human should have to fight and that you'd do it with bravery unlike this world has ever seen They didn't tell me. They didn't tell me. -------------------------------------------------- If I'...

Easter OT (sprinkled with ST & if you're clever perhaps even some PT)

So I found these really cute little Easter Eggs at Target the other day. They were pre-filled. Which already gave it an A+ in my book. But the fact that they were filled with something other than candy is what has me itching to go back for more! These eggs were filled with Little People...Seasame Street figurines...HotWheels...Playdough...and more! I'm partial to the Little People and SS ones because Trevy is so chewy. But honestly...there are just SO many fun ways to use these things! Especially after watching Miss. Speech play a similar game with Trevy this week. There were lots of great factors to this little game! It fed Trevy's cause & effect addiction! Opening and finding and replacing and shutting. Kept his attention for at least 2-3 minutes in a row! Inside the eggs were hidden little animal figures. Which Miss. Speech used as ques to help Trevy work on their various sounds or actions. Trevy likes to hop hop hop like a bunny. He's very into movement ...

waiting room days (the readable version!)

Kids these days. Have then no respect? I mean...she knew we were on the longest healthy streak. Possibly ever. Or at least since our family bumped from one to 2 kiddos. But did that stop her? Oooooooooooooh no. She had to go and get the croup! ::sigh:: Thank goodness Dr. Pedi was running on time today. So it was a relatively quick in & out. Because to put bluntly...Trevy and waiting rooms don't mix. Or rather... mommy and Trevor and waiting rooms don't mix! Especially with a hacky clingy binti hanging from my leg. Trevy would be in his glory if he were unleashed in a doctors office. Any office. He's not a picky guy. I was literally drenched in sweat by time Dr. Pedi made her appearance. I hope she appreciated the fact that I'd successfully prevented Trevy from slamming the door more than 3 times. From tearing every last shred of that paper roll off the table. Cause his curious fingers were positively itching to rip it up into a million little pieces to b...
