Mulan kisses aren’t the kind you forget

Trevy never ceases to amaze me.  He is so smart and funny.  Hands down he has the best hip shakin’ you ever did see.  He has this amazing memory too!  It’s just been locked behind his speech delay.  But as his speech has blossomed so has his ability to share all those little thoughts that he has always had...but just hasn't been able to express.     Tonight for instance.     I kissed him goodnight on his forehead.  His eyes glowed bright.  And he stuttered and stumbled and took a minute or two and I could tell he was trying so very hard to spit it out and that it was really important to him.  I always encourage him to slow down and take his time.  It’s important to me that he know…deep in his bones…that I’m okay with waiting for him.  That I’ll wait as long as it takes when he has something to say.  He struggled.  And that’s exactly what it is.  It’s a gritty strug...

it isn’t that there’s nothing to say…

it’s that there just isn’t time to say it.     Jonathan and I were chatting the other day and he was, like,     Trevor is harder than ever to care for!     And I was, like,     I knooooooow !!!!     We love him to bits.  Bits, I say.  But between homeschooling the big kids, various therapies for him throughout the week and keeping him outta trouble with the remaining spare time…     I feel like I can barely rub two thoughts together.     And yet…     I miss blogging.  It’s always been cathartic for me.  And I really do have so much to say.  Eventually I’ll get to share it.     In the meantime, wish us luck as we move on to ADHD med trial number two.  Ritalin just wasn’t our thing.  Actually, it had the reverse affect on Trevor.  He seemed more “there” but his hyperactivity was THROUGH THE ROOF!  Yowsers!  S...

Potty Report

We’re still not a 100% there.     But we’re making progress all the time.  Progress that I totally should be sharing because Lord knows I’ve done enough complaining.  Seriously though.  I was so hoping almost two years later we’d be done with it.  Sigh.     On to the good news though…     sometime over the last few months Trevy started doing his “doo-dee” in the potty!  The first time was during his overnight EEG last summer!      From that first pooper in the potter…he slowly became more consistent.  Haha…potty pun.     At first, I was SO desperate to NOT have to change big boy bootay anymore that I promised him McDonald’s every time he went doo-doo.     Little smarty pants started pushing a little out at a time and would then demand “chick nunnens” five times a day!     Um, yeah, about two weeks into that mess…we had to change things up!  ...
