did you know that...

"The psychology department of Dayton University reports that loud talk can be ten times more distracting than the sound of a jackhammer. Loud, incessant chatter can make a listener nervous and irritable, and even start him on the road to insanity."

True-er words...

lmao Danielle....I can really believe it. I can tune out construction noise, but when people get talking around me here at work, I get distracted. I'm one of those people who like to work in my cubicle. By myself and left alone....to surf the net...lol

I actually find the rhythmic noise of a jack hammer soothing compared to my children's chatter :) Why on earth do I alway press for more speech therapy??

It was so quiet in the days before speech therapy :)

If I am by myself, subconciously I can't tune the kids out. But when I am with Jeff, I always manage. It drives him crazy that all 5 of us will be in the car and I am out in space while he's yelling at the kids to settle down. I don't even hear them! :)

lol Jen, I do the same exact thing when Rich is home or with us somewhere. It's like since we know there is another set of ears, we don't really need to at least halfway pay attention to the kids....
