to everything...

I had several emails over the weekend...expressing both joy over Trevy's triumphs...and prayers for our current sadness.

Thank you...

I know it was a little awkward. Weird even. To have a post SO hopeful...followed by one so vague-ly gut wrenching.

I was actually in the middle of writing the Hopeful post...when I took the Gut Wrenching call. I thought it fitting to post them together. Because that was how our life played out this week.

I love the way King Solomon sums up our life here...

There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven:

a time to be born and a time to die,

a time to plant and a time to uproot,

a time to kill and a time to heal,

a time to tear down and a time to build,

a time to weep and a time to laugh,

a time to mourn and a time to dance,

a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,

a time to embrace and a time to refrain,

a time to search and a time to give up,

a time to keep and a time to throw away,

a time to tear and a time to mend,

a time to be silent and a time to speak,

a time to love and a time to hate,

a time for war and a time for peace.

Ecclesiastes 3:1-8

And sometimes it's all blended together...

Danielle, thank you for sharing those verses! ...Out of all the blessing that have come as comforts this weekend, the Bible is definitely top on the list. I love you guys very much...

Houston?? SO FAR!

I absolutely love this passage. I remember WAY BACK in high school, actually when my brother was still in HS, he did a photo presentation to The Byrds song. back before powerpoint :) and I LOVED it.
