Toby: Mom...what's a sweet tooth?

Me: It just means you really like to eat sweets...

::wheels spinning pause::

Toby: Well, I don't have a sweet tooth. But I sure do have a "meat" tooth!

**************

Bristel would like to know if your...

yester-night

was

pink-a-lish?

*********

The Scene: (If you're not an Amazing Race fan this'll fly right over) So Bri likes to hang with me while I get dressed. And...there I stood...in all my matching "skippies" glory. When she exclaims...

Oh mommy...you should be on the Amazing Race!

****************

Thank you Octo-mom for the following teachable moment whilst running errands...

Bristel: I wanna get married and have lots of kids

Toby: (in an I'm 8 therefore I know everything voice) You don't have to be married to have kids!

Bristel: (with a gasp) YES YOU DO!

Toby: Well that mom with eight babies on tv isn't!

What was my response you ask? What nugget of parenting wisdom do I have to share?

When things get sticky...and you're in the car...and too zonked to tackle a ummmmmm delicate topic...

lean forward...

ever so slowly so as not to be obvious...

and CRANK the tunes as loud as possible! Works every time!

Bristel has randomly declared...

The Dentist is AWESOME!

after her most recent tooth cleaning appointment.

So I remember flipping through this magazine once...

and skimming this interview with this gorgeous actress. Don't remember who...

but I'm totally trying to adopt her philosophy that dark under eyes are sexy!

In spite of the nasty seizure week we've had...

Trevy did something new that melted my heart!

We have this little climber-slide combo thing-y in our yard. And I've been working with Trev for weeks...on how to climb it. But more importantly...how to sit & scooch to the slide.

And sooooooo...

I hand over hand helped his footsies climb up. And once he was at the top...took a deep breath and let go to see what would happen...

and he toddled a couple steps. Plopped his sweet cheeks down. And scooched to the slide!!!!!

And weeeeeeeeeeeeeee down he went!

Which prompted a mommy-happy dance to the neighbors dismay!

::wink::

Those kids are so darn cute! Yes, our yester night was pink a lish! Is there any other way to spend a yester night? I admit, I also have a meat tooth, however, the main reason I can seem to fit in my skinny jeans is my bread tooth :) Trevy! Kay tries to give me a heart attack by climbing the big kid slide @ the park ever since the OT taught her to climb the ladder :)

D- matching skibs? Wow, I just throw on what ever is on top in the drawer ;) Javi manage to walk in a when I was in my skibs and say he wants me to drop a few lbs so I will be skinny again. I told him "that's my plan".

Dark under eyes sexy?? If so I could win the prize. The doc tells me it's genetic so no matter the amount of sleep, they will always be there. Damn those genes!

Yeah Trevy on the slide! And I, too, just crank the music. SOOO much easier some days!

Hope you hear from Dr Rockstar soon!

I went to share with Pops about the funny things the kids say but he had already read them. We both had a good laugh about the meat tooth.

No, I don’t know him personally

I’ve had several emails today asking if I know Mike W. of Marissa’s Bunny personally.    Trevy’s blog was linked on her site.  Although it’s not now.     I’ve posted here and there at his request.  Because…well…we’re a community.  Us IS families.  And Marissa is wicked cute.  Her daddy has a way with words.  Also who wouldn’t want the world to know about an iPad give-away?    But aside from that…I know about as much as you do.    We’ve never met in person.    Our only communication has been cyber.    I’m a ginormous sap and as such would love to believe that all is right.  That the sweet, beautiful families who were promised iPads will be getting them tonight.  Tomorrow at the latest.  That no one has been lied to.  That the personal thank you for your generosity email I sent him on behalf of other IS families I’ve grown to love and was thrilled to learn w...

I was talking about you today

That's right. You. Sitting there glued. To the computer screen. Getting your Trevy fix. You who hasn't been able to tear your eyes away. The one who checks back here gobs of times a day. Hanging on every post. Especially the dripping with drama or funny posts. Because you need to either laugh or cry alternately. Just like me. And somewhere...sometime...somehow...over the course of these past couple years... ...you found yourself here. Reading about me. About my family. About my Trevy. And slowly you were drawn in. Until you couldn't help yourself. You were head over heels. Unashamedly addicted. Maybe we connected in a support forum. Perhaps we're old college friends. I know we have family following. Hi guys! Some teachers and therapists. Maybe even a medical professional or two. Perhaps our kids play ball together. We might be FaceBook friends. Or you could be a friend of a friend. Even a complete stranger. But to us... you each have a very special pla...

I tend to be a live out loud kinda girl. But sometimes... well...sometimes life is just so heavy. So intense. So overwhemling. That it brings out the recluse in me. Like lately. The thing is...I know it'll pass. It always does. And I'll learn something. Grow. Hopefully. Survive. Certainly. Because I have to. It's just right now. In this particular heavy moment. I would much rather run away to some tropical paradise and sip martinis until Jonathan calls to tell me Trevy's back at home. Happy. And seizure free. With a new head of curls covering the scar and bouncing around the house. I am a coward after all. I've never denied that. And I really don't want to live through this next month. Which is probably why my posts will be random. At best.
