puppy palooza...in other words WAY too many puppy pics! (a picture marathon)

So we set off on the great puppy picking adventure yesterday afternoon...

And this little chunk'a cute-a-licious is what we brought home!

So those of you who've been around for awhile already know that my hubster is a HUGE O's fan.

He grew up in Northern Virginia...and has a very strong loyal streak...

which is why we unashamedly share that we're raising the kiddos to be just as die-hard O's as daddy-o!

Which includes naming our various pets (we had three dogs in Tanzania) after something O's-ish.

We had a Camden...for Camden Yards. A Brooks...Brooks Robinson.

Jonathan's favorite was a huge beast of a dog we were given. Boog looked much more lion than dog. He was the perfect guard dog!

We really weren't even considering getting a puppy.

But then our friends had to go and offer us a little muchkin! She's a Cockapoo for the interested. Jonathan grew up with one. And it only breed we were really interested in. What with the nostalgia...and non-shedding factor. We had window shopped two years ago...making our wallets knees shake. Turned out nostalgia was definately outta our budget!

Until now!

I know...I know...

I'm sure I'll feel differently after a few potty pick-ups...

But it just seems really neat that she'd come now.

Like Someone knew all along when the time would be right...

When the kids would be ready...

Although it's interesting that Trevy is way more into chewing the puppy's bones...

than actually playing with her! She's a little too...ummmm...friendly...for his sensory-self.

But I think feels right. For Toby and Bristel to bond with her. To find comfort in cuddling her.

They need it...ya know.

And boy o' boy...I hope Callie (any guess who she's named for?) needs lots'o love too!

Cause she's getting it...

by the squeeze full!

And it's only a matter of time before Bristel start breaking out the baby doll clothes too!

I know exactly who she's named for. Don't know if I should post it or not and give it away though.... Let's just say he's the "Iron Man" of baseball. *grins* Couldn't have picked a better name either!

She is one adorable little pup! Makes me want to bury my face in her fur and I'm allergic to dogs!!!lol

Um, so, just feel free to stop by anytime you are out on a walk with her. If the leash seems to be a bit lighter on the way back, don't worry about it. Callie won't be replaced with a stuffed animal. Nope. Wouldn't do that to you or the little ones. (Note to self: get second dog dish and dog bed).

Seriously, anytime you are out for a walk with her, Sox (as if you didn't know who Ron likes) would love to make a new friend!

No, I don’t know him personally

I’ve had several emails today asking if I know Mike W. of Marissa’s Bunny personally.    Trevy’s blog was linked on her site.  Although it’s not now.     I’ve posted here and there at his request.  Because…well…we’re a community.  Us IS families.  And Marissa is wicked cute.  Her daddy has a way with words.  Also who wouldn’t want the world to know about an iPad give-away?    But aside from that…I know about as much as you do.    We’ve never met in person.    Our only communication has been cyber.    I’m a ginormous sap and as such would love to believe that all is right.  That the sweet, beautiful families who were promised iPads will be getting them tonight.  Tomorrow at the latest.  That no one has been lied to.  That the personal thank you for your generosity email I sent him on behalf of other IS families I’ve grown to love and was thrilled to learn w...

I was talking about you today

That's right. You. Sitting there glued. To the computer screen. Getting your Trevy fix. You who hasn't been able to tear your eyes away. The one who checks back here gobs of times a day. Hanging on every post. Especially the dripping with drama or funny posts. Because you need to either laugh or cry alternately. Just like me. And somewhere...sometime...somehow...over the course of these past couple years... ...you found yourself here. Reading about me. About my family. About my Trevy. And slowly you were drawn in. Until you couldn't help yourself. You were head over heels. Unashamedly addicted. Maybe we connected in a support forum. Perhaps we're old college friends. I know we have family following. Hi guys! Some teachers and therapists. Maybe even a medical professional or two. Perhaps our kids play ball together. We might be FaceBook friends. Or you could be a friend of a friend. Even a complete stranger. But to us... you each have a very special pla...

I tend to be a live out loud kinda girl. But sometimes... well...sometimes life is just so heavy. So intense. So overwhemling. That it brings out the recluse in me. Like lately. The thing is...I know it'll pass. It always does. And I'll learn something. Grow. Hopefully. Survive. Certainly. Because I have to. It's just right now. In this particular heavy moment. I would much rather run away to some tropical paradise and sip martinis until Jonathan calls to tell me Trevy's back at home. Happy. And seizure free. With a new head of curls covering the scar and bouncing around the house. I am a coward after all. I've never denied that. And I really don't want to live through this next month. Which is probably why my posts will be random. At best.
