well that sounds ominous

I emailed Dr. Rockstar earlier today...

Hope you had a wonderful holiday!

On to business...

I finally received the pathology report in the mail. It was far less helpful than I'd hoped! When you have time...can you please help me understand what the findings were?

I did not see anything that specifically stated cortical dysplasia? But then it could be that I do not understand all the lingo?

Thanks...and best...

His super quick Rockstar response back...

Best to discuss it on the telephone after the holidays when i have the
chart in front of me. Call me then. 555-555-5555. Happy New year.

What the heck is that supposed to mean?!?!?!

Jonathan says it just sounds like he hasn't read the report yet...and I should stop acting so sinister...

My nature is to pick things apart, 2nd guess, over-think things waaaay to much....so honestly....this vague,rock-star response would be a great one for me to do that with....BUT...

I like your hubby's thoughts, so stick with that! :)

My guess...he needs the chart to refresh his memory. He has done this to me before and it didn't mean anything but the fact that he needed to read the report again. By the way, no sign of CD on Sophie's path report either. I was quite surprised by that. Call me if you want to talk about it.

Danielle, I can see where you are coming from, I've never understood all that medical stuff.

BUT...I can see where J is coming from too. Dr. Rockstar is probably busy and either hasn't had time to review the report yet OR just wants to go over it again so that he doesn't say anything not true.

Happy New Year to you and yours. {hugs}

He is super careful and likes to be thorough. Don't panic!

Easier said than done...I know.

lol Im with Jonathon...
BUT on the other hand I have been on the end of those emails from Dr. Rockstar and have sat there after reading the response and saying "WTF? What does he mean? Is he implying something?" He is quick to answer but sometimes he doesn't answer like I'd like him too! :)

he probably isn't in his office & can't remember what it said exactly so he doesn't want to say anything incorrect & wants to be able to give you details...with the chart in front of him. stop it you worry wart!!! ;) xoxoxo

I think Monica is right. Too many patients and he finally has a few days to himself. I remember when Abby was sick and our neuro went on holiday - he was the only one in our hospital so I was panicing until he told me that going on vacation for him meant not seeing office patients, just the ones in the hospital. Unfortunately for his wife he spent most of his time with us because Abby was so unstable.

Hang in there. Waiting for information is always the worst.

Don't you HATE when that happens?

"Don't borrow trouble," as Mom always says...It's tough, but I am sure all is good...

I'd be just like you, though and anxious until you get that call...

Hang in there...Just think....2010 will be SO much different for your boy and his precious family!!!

I'm with your hubby.

We once went to the super-fabulous/only one in the state cardiologist about Charlie's heart and he told me some weird stuff and when I asked he said, "I'll be right back."

Came back a few minutes later with a new spiel. I could tell that he'd totally skimmed our chart and missed some of the biggies like HEART FAILURE, ELECTRIC SHOCK, and POSSIBLE WPW. That's why I ask so many questions.

Whatever it is, its gone!! If it was something that could grow back you would not have gotten out the door of the hospital. These things look more obvious than CD when they have the tissue in their hands. Be brave. You will find out more in a few days.

We never got a pathology report. But we were told all along that it was cortical dysplasia with type II balloon cells.

I agree...he just doesn't have the report in front of him. ;-) He has responded to me the same before too. Also, I've notice to never ask him more than one question in an email b/c he usually only responds quickly to one question. ;-) Anyway, don't worry! Jackson's did not spell out CD....it listed other things that Dr. C said was a form of it. Confusing in medical terms. Happy New Year to you all!!!
