a peek at Trevy's school week

No official School. Instead...Jonathan drops Trevy off at Grams' house on his way to work.  Grams is in the process of equipping her finished basement into a School Room.  Grams is super creative and is doing a wonderful job!  She also happens to have a humongous backyard for PT time during the cooler months.  And a pool to splash in during the warmer weather!  Also...it doesn't hurt that Pop Pop (Trevy's current main squeeze) happens to live there too!  Our family is extraordinarily blessed to have local grandparents who are so involved...not just with Trevy but with all of our children.

Tuesdays & Thursdays

7:45 - 9:45am ABA Therapy (during each session the last 30 minutes are spent in class during Circle Time)

9:45 - 10:00am Integrated (meaning 50% typically developing peer models and 50% students with special needs) Classroom time.

10:00 - 10:30am Speech Therapy

10:30 - 11:30am Integrated Classroom time

All that working and learning is followed by Trevy crashing daily from noon to 3pm!!!!  Sure it crunches the day.  But I don't really mind.  His little body is still healing.  And his little (can't believe he only has half!!!) brain is thriving!

Merely out of curiousity, what does one do in 15 minutes of classroom time? Is it more of a lesson in sitting still, or self discipline?

Elaine...I LOVE the long naps! Although...the past week we've been trending towards 2pm. :(

Mrs. M...and do I ever love me my break!

Anonymous...His 1:1 ABA session ends around 9:15ish. So from 7:45 - 9:15 he's 1:1 and then his ABA therapist joins him in his class Circle Time. Although the Trevy reality is...15 minutes sounds short but that's about his max of one activity at a time. Last year he was going for "walks in the hall" multiple times a day. Now that his day is more structured with pull outs...he is able to attend MUCH better during the classroom times!

Sounds very busy! Henry has now mostly dropped his nap which is an adjustment for me ;) but stops the early morning waking we had for a while.
He's nowhere near as busy though so maybe it'll come back one day?!

That's a very nice spread! Not saying this won't last but of course it will change - meantime, savor it. Barbara
