vax video...

I am neither endorsing nor debating the following video.

I am simply posting it.

Because it moved me.

And I'm always pro being moved...

to think...

to be educated or educate...

to advocate...

and to love your family more fully!

Jonathan says whoo hoo for the first cuss! *wink*

Although...truth be told...everytime I think of Questcor making a projected 24.4 million this past quarter alone...to be divided amongst 32-ish employees. Let's just say I could be accused of potty mouth in the brain!

(((hugs)))

Scary about all of this, I am really getting ready for my speech at Charlie's 1 year checkup. I am NOT against vaccines, just doing it on my schedule and spreading them out. I look at the warnings to some of them, and seizures are a countraindication. Ummm, I am pretty sure Charlie is trying to battle THE most serious seizure disorder a baby can have. Let's weigh the 2 in priority? I mean, c'mon. Sorry, that video really rubbed me the wrong way.

Molli - I totally know where you're coming from! I shouldn't have to educate my son's pediatrician which vaccines are contra-indicated for him! Nor should I have to deal with judgemental nurses who have NO CLUE what we've been through! Grrrrrrrrr...obviously incenses me! It stinks that you feel like you need to have a speech ready. I'm crossing my fingers that you don't run into any negetivity!

wow...very powerful. i'm so torn on the vaccine issue being a nurse. I've seen kids almost die from pertussis, but I've also seen my child suffer for most of his life. The more testing that we have done, and the more the results come back negative, the more inclined I am to lean towards blaming vaccinations. I think kids need vaccines, but we also don't need to give them all in 2 years. monica

I have been purposely skipping well baby check ups with our ped because of pressure to shoot up Kay with toxic waste. They make me feel like I am a horrible mother and my kids are going to get some horrible infectious disease that I haven't even heard of children getting in nearly four decades. I know that due to the use of vaccines. If those doctors walked in my shoes for a day, they would understand why I have had enough. I think I would rather roll the dice with the diseases than think of having yet another child affected by Autism. Two kids with an ASD and one with IS and epilepsy is enough for me, thanks!

Hello? I have gone totally organic, make my own natural cleaners, read every label, scrutinize sun block, soap, hand sanitizer, laundry detergent, and just about everything else that gets near my kids. I am not about to inject them with something I know contains poison. I may have been trusting and stupid about the boys getting vaccinated, but I am not about to let them get anywhere near Kaylee with a vax cocktail, not after all we have been through.

I'm not saying that vaccines caused Autism in my children. That is still up for debate. We may have Tuberous Sclerosis as a factor, which can cause Autism, but I sure as hell am not going to up our chances by continuing to vaccinate. I am not against vaccinating children either, but I am all for pitching in the few bucks outta pocket for a single dose without poison. I'll skip that latte rather than deal with the constant tantrums, sensory disfunction, language delays, not being about to have a coherent conversation with my eight year old, self mutilation, social delays and feeling like every day is an up hill battle to stay sane.

Ok, I guess I'd been holding that in for a while. Thanks for letting me vent and thanks for posting the vid.

Monica - I'm with you...I want Trevy to have vaccinations. But less...and administered one x one. I don't understand what the harm is...and why pedis are so resistant to move to a slower & one at a time regimen.

Shanna - lol...I love you sweetie! I used to roll my eyes at the anti-vax posters all around our neighborhood...like those parents were looney toons. Noooow...I'm with you...moving into organic cleaners & such. Although I'd love to hire someone to do the footwork for me! *smile* Have you checked into a local vax friendly doctor?

ps. You can vent anytime!

Me too! I too was on the anti-anti vax bandwagon. At one point, I was even willing to speak out and say that I was for vaxing all children. Let me say again, I am not against vaxing children, I am just against the schedule, the amount, and the poison they used to preserve it. If they could find a safer way with less vax cocktails and an adjusted schedule, I would continue.

I am going to hunt for a vax friendly ped. Up 'til now we have seen dr neuro more than the ped, so I got all of her weight and percentages there. I really had no bone to pick with dr ped, since we weren't vaxing, so we have just skipped the well baby appt's.

Yes, I have been lagging on getting myself and the boys genetically tested. We were approved, I just need to make the appointment with dr. gen. Kay already had her round of super dooper $$$ gene scrutinizing, thank goodness!

I'm hunting for a developmental ped. I found one that I loved...only to learn he doesn't accept our ins! Ugh! With ear infections & other issues...we literally see our ped so much that she told she had a dream about us! Other than the vax issue she's been great. And even on that...she's very laid back. Her nurse not so much. And the fact that she deals with SO many kids...she forgot that we were opting to wait on Trev's vaxes.

I hate the genetics thing. I'm not even sure we'll go if they approve us being tested. Although Dr. Genes did recommened when the kids get a bit older that we should all be tested. We'll see...

It really makes me feel like everything I have been fighting for is NOT in vain when I see threads of conversation like this. So many people are either totally anti vax, or totally against anyone with an alternate opinion. I am so not anti vax, and I am also so not going along with the recomended schedule either. I believe that my child's IS was triggered by vax, and I believe that many children have become autistic after vax, yet I know we need them. There has to be a middle ground. I think parents educating themselves and making their own choices about what their hearts tell them is right for their child is a damn good start!
