that face

Don't you dare be fooled by that face... that so-cute-you-just-wanna-squeeze-him-til-his-curls-go-straight face. Because all that face reveals... is the fact that J & I have been gifted with the ability to create cute babies. We have two others reflecting the same giftedness. ::grin:: What that little face does not reveal...unless one looks with much effort into the mischievous gleam twinkling in those what-can-I-get-into-next eyes... is that this child...belonging to that face...suffers from no-fear-sydrome. Zero. Notta. Hamna! Which I learned today whilst shampooing my carpets. A job that was due quite some time ago but just this morning found the opportunity to be done. This morning I learned that the littlest of my cuties has no fear of... noisy water-spewing & sucking machines... no fear of... rubbery conduits of electricity which also make fabulous teethers to cheeky babies... no fear of... little wet tootsie slipping on tiled cement floors... and no fear of... ...

testimony granted

I would like to express a great big thank-you to Child Health Corporation of America for providing a grant yesterday which covered the entire cost of our DC trip. Their generosity made my testimony before the JEC a reality. because let's face it...we be broke! ::smile::

got gunk?

Cause Trevy' does! Gooshing non-stop from his ears. Trust me...groady! Poor baby just can't catch a break with his ears! Dr. Tubes told us that it wouldn't be a cure-all. But I guess I was hoping. And yet this is his 2nd infection since April. Which admittedly is better than his pre-tube insert pattern...but it still breaks our hearts to see him in such agony. Cause Trevy' does not handle the sickies well at all. And let's us know about it all night long! I'm inclined to insert... he's such a boy! But I'll just think it instead! I'm SO happy Dr. Pedi was kind enough to just call in the anti-biotics. I know I managed with three youngins' the other day...but I'm kinda in a mood today so my patience is running low! ::smile::

solo surviving

I had to run to the doctors first thing this morning. Solo. With ALL three kids! Why is it that walk-in hours are always insanely early?! I swear someone has a sick sense of humor! They're getting a kick outta watching us make-up-less & frazzled with snotty nosed children in tow. At the break of dawn! Living on yesterday's coffee! Anyway... Trevy has been really out of sorts this week. Clingy & cranky. And whacking at his ears. Plus night waking. More than usual. Before IS he slept through the night like a champ...ever since he wakes at least twice a night. Maybe someday a full-nights sleep is waiting for us.... ::sigh:: Turns out no ear infection...but lots of gunk blocking the tubes. Dr. Pedi kindly removed all the sticky-ickies from my very uncooperative and super strong 16 month old. And ordered special drops for the next five days. Hope it works! We would love to go back to the land of twice a night wakings! Bristel wasn't feeling good...but checked out fine...

random-nings

I was just unbuckeling my seat belt when Toby came barging out the front door. Being a little homebody he'd opted to stay back with Grams instead of tagging along to Music Class. What he came charging out to say knocked me off my feet! "Hey Mom...just checking if you need help carrying anything in?" Am I beaming? Surely I'm beaming? I feel like I'm beaming! ************************************************** "Look...mommy...it's the funk-a-dilly!" As uttered by Bristel...who was contorted under the pews into a side ways bridge postion (if I'm remembering my gymnastics termanolgy correctly) . In the middle of church. In a less than church mouse volume. Gotta love the Backyardigans! ************************************************ "Can I watch Beijing?" That phrase is seared on my brain! Seriously...is there therapy for a 7 year old sports fanatic? Is it weird that he would rather watch ESPN news than cartoons? That he has his ver...
